Stakeholders Discuss State of NESI

It was an avenue for active engagements at the first NESI Stakeholders meeting of 2025 which took place at the NERC headquarters in Abuja.

As the name implies, the quarterly meeting is a platform where operators meet with the regulator and other stakeholders to discuss the state of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

For this session, the topics included the tariff methodology and impact on the transition to state electricity market, NESI liquidity, financial evaluation of the market and the transition to a multi-tier electricity market with regards to State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERCs), among others.

At the meeting, NERC directed the Distribution Companies (DisCos) to publish details of refunds for meters bought under the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) on their websites.

This is with the aim of demonstrating commitment and consistency to the scheme and encourage customers.
