KSERC SHOWCASES REGULATORY MILESTONES IN VISIT TO NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) received a delegation from the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) on a courtesy visit on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
The visit was aimed at strengthening inter-governmental regulatory collaboration and sharing progress on the development of the state electricity market framework in Kogi state.
The KSERC delegation was led by its Chairman, Ibrahim Abdulwaris, who highlighted the strides made by the Commission since its establishment.
The NERC leadership, led by the Commissioner, Stakeholder Management Division, Aisha Mahmud, expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded by KSERC within one year of its inception.
She commended the proactive steps taken to build a solid regulatory foundation and encouraged states to leverage available resources within their jurisdictions to boost electricity generation and drive market development.
The meeting reinforced the importance of sustained collaboration between NERC and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, particularly in sharing regulatory expertise, strengthening institutional capacity, and fostering a coherent and efficient electricity market structure across the country.
