NERC Appeals for Caution over Industrial Action in Ikeja DisCo

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has followed with apprehension the ensuing industrial action between the management of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja DisCo) and the workers’ union. We hereby appeal for caution in the handling of issues on both sides noting that human lives might be involved.

Parties are further encouraged to resolve their differences through negotiation and concessions so as to forestall any loss of lives; properties; and further hardship on electricity customers within the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company’s coverage area.
