General Requirements

  • Details of generation system supplying the mini-grid
  • Description of distribution network
  • Geographical details (Schedule 3)
  • Executed agreement between community and developer
  • Health and safety confirmation form (Schedule 6)
  • End-user tariff (MYTO methodology)
  • Confirmation of non-interference with DisCo

Mini-Grid Permit

Completed Application Form (Schedule 3) and:

  • Contract between community and operator
  • Power station layout drawings
  • Network map
  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Certificate of Occupancy / Lease
  • Building Permit
  • Tariff spreadsheets

Mini-Grid Registration

  • Application Form (Schedule 2)
  • Minimum technical requirements (Schedule 7)

Interconnected Mini-Grids

  • Signed tripartite agreement (community, developer, DisCo)

Transfer / Sale / Assignment

  • Application letter
  • Incorporation documents of transferee
  • Board resolutions (transferor & transferee)
  • Original permit certificate
  • Technical capability of transferee

 

Applicable Fees

Mini-Grid Registration

  • Processing Fee: Nil
  • Authorisation Fee: Nil

Mini-Grid Permit

Processing Fee

  • ≤100 kW: NGN 50,000
  • 101 – 1000 kW: NGN 150,000

Authorisation Fee

  • ≤100 kW: NGN 100,000
  • 101 – 1000 kW: NGN 250,000

 

Processing Timeline

  • 30 Days (from complete application submission)
