Stakeholders Discuss Integrating Power Plants In SCADA Deployment


As the Nigerian Electricity Market prepares for the full integration of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC saw the imperative of convening a stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja.

The participants discussed the integration of power plants into the ongoing SCADA and Electricity Management System just as the transmission and distribution systems are being integrated into the platform being deployed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) with funding from the World Bank.

The stakeholders' engagement session was declared open by the NERC Chairman, Sanusi Garba and had in attendance representatives of TCN, Niger Delta Power Holding Company and operation managers of the Generation Companies.
