NERC Welcomes Partnership with eTranzact on financial technology for Power Sector
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, received the management team of eTranzact International Plc on a courtesy visit to its headquarters in Abuja.
Welcoming the team, NERC Chairman, Dr. Musiliu Oseni reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to supporting innovations that enhance liquidity, operational efficiency, and service delivery across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
The eTranzact delegation, led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Niyi Toluwalope, presented a suite of financial technology solutions tailored to the power sector.
Among the offerings highlighted was a platform designed to enable electricity consumers purchase power and make payments in instalments, alongside other digital payment and settlement solutions aimed at improving market efficiency.
Both organisations expressed readiness to explore collaborative pathways that will leverage financial technology to strengthen payment systems, improve revenue assurance, and drive overall market sustainability.
NERC is the independent regulator with jurisdiction over the interstate electricity market and activities within NESI.
Established under the Electricity Act 2023, the Commission is mandated to promote a transparent, efficient, and reliable electricity market.
