NERC Inaugurates 5th Initial Stakeholder Advisory Panel

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has inaugurated the 5th Initial Stakeholders Advisory Panel to help improve the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

First set up in 2021, the panel advises NERC on changes to market rules, grid codes, and other key recommendations.

The panel plays a key role in improving electricity market operations by recommending necessary updates to policies and regulations.

NERC relies on the panel to ensure that all parts of the electricity market; generation, distribution, and transmission are represented in decision-making.

During the inauguration, the Vice Chairman, NERC, Dr. Musiliu Oseni highlighted the panel’s importance in supporting the commission’s regulatory functions.

He stated that the Commission is looking forward to receiving the panel’s recommendations that will help in the development of the NESI.
