NERC Hosts Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission for Peer Learning Session

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has welcomed officials of the Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ISERC) for a Peer Learning and Twinning session.

During the visit, ISERC officials engaged in interactive discussions with NERC’s Legal, Licensing, and Compliance division. Additional engagements with other NERC divisions continued during the Peer Learning and Twinning programme.

 

NERC had earlier issued an Order initiating the transfer of regulatory oversight of the intrastate electricity market in Imo State from NERC to ISERC. Following a six-month transition period, the process was successfully concluded, and ISERC now regulates Imo State’s electricity market in line with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electricity Act, 2023.
