NERC Holds Training On Health And Safety Regulations

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Thursday organised a training session on health and safety regulations to build capacity for regulatory specialists in the Commission.

The training featured a comprehensive review of the NERC Health and Safety Code, the Health and Safety Standards Manual while highlighting the key provisions that stakeholders should note for efficient operations.

The facilitators at the training also harped on the importance of safety regulation to NERC and the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). The participants went through a session on comparative analysis of the regulatory roles of NERC and other regulators in selected jurisdictions.

The training ended with a discussion on potential challenges to implementing safety measures and making recommendations for improved implementation strategies.
