NERC Engages Power Sector Stakeholders on Integrating Generating Units into SCADA/EMS Project
Stakeholders from across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) convened in Abuja for a high-level engagement focused on integrating generating units into the ongoing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Energy Management System (SCADA/EMS) Project.
The Stakeholders Engagement Meeting, hosted by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), underscored the importance of collaboration, technical readiness, and regulatory alignment to ensure the successful integration of power generation assets into the national grid’s real-time monitoring and control infrastructure.
Speaking at the meeting, the Acting Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Ali, emphasized the strategic importance of the SCADA/EMS project to grid reliability, transparency, and operational efficiency across the power sector. He noted that effective integration of generating units is critical to achieving improved system visibility, real-time decision-making, and enhanced grid stability.
“This engagement is an important step in ensuring that all generating units are fully aligned with the technical and operational requirements of the SCADA/EMS project. Our collective commitment is essential to delivering a more efficient, reliable, and transparent electricity supply industry,” Dr. Yusuf stated.
