Data-Driven Reporting: NERC Kano Workshop Concludes

The 3-day Capacity Strengthening Workshop for Electricity Reporters in Kano has officially concluded.

Across the three days, collaborative sessions explored the evolving regulatory landscape of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

A major highlight of the sessions was a deep dive into industry data. The Commission's Research and Data Analytics (RDA) team walked journalists through NERC’s quarterly reports and monthly factsheets, equipping them with the tools needed for accurate, evidence-based reporting on the sector.

The event wrapped up with closing remarks by the Director of RDA, Abdullahi Adamu, who commended the media's enthusiasm for digging into the facts. He emphasized how vital the data is for changing the narrative of the NESI and building public trust.
