NERC Strengthens Collaboration as AKSERC Pays Courtesy Visit

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Tuesday received a delegation from the Akwa Ibom State Electricity Regulatory Commission (AKSERC), led by its Chairman, Mrs. Arit Uya.

Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Uya stated that AKSERC is committed to leveraging NERC's extensive regulatory experience as it develops the electricity market in Akwa Ibom State. She noted that the Commission intends to build on the milestones achieved by NERC while adapting regulatory frameworks and approaches to address the unique electricity needs of the state.

In his response, the Chairman of NERC, Dr. Musiliu Oseni, welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to supporting state electricity regulatory commissions through knowledge sharing, technical assistance, and sustained collaboration. He emphasized that strong partnerships among regulators are essential for developing efficient, transparent, and consumer-centred electricity markets across the country.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of both Commissions to strengthening electricity regulation and advancing access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity for consumers in Akwa Ibom State and across Nigeria.
