NERC Champions Cybersecurity, Marks Awareness Month

As part of activities marking the 2025 Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), on Monday, 10th November 2025, held an interactive session featuring a keynote presentation on digital safety and resilience.

NERC Commissioner, Corporate Services, Nathan Shatti, emphasized the need for continuous learning in cybersecurity, noting that the Commission will sustain the annual awareness initiative.

The Commissioner, Legal, Licensing & Compliance, Dafe Akpeneye, highlighted that in an age of Artificial Intelligence, “security is more critical than ever, nothing is what it seems anymore.”

Cybersecurity expert Umar Sa’ad, in his keynote address, urged staff to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding digital systems.

The 2025 Cybersecurity Awareness Month runs through November with the theme: 'Securing Our Digital Future: Awareness, Responsibility, and Resilience.'
