Technical Working Group Meets on Establishing Forum for Nigerian Electricity Regulators

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has hosted a meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on the establishment of a Forum for Nigerian Electricity Regulators.

In attendance were NERC Commissioners, Mr. Dafe Akpeneye (Legal, Licencing and Compliance), and Dr. Yusuf Ali (Research and Data Analytics), alongside senior management officials of NERC.

The meeting also had in attendance Chairmen of some State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERCs), including, Mr Chijioke Okonkwo, Chairman of the Enugu Electricity Regulatory Commission.

 During the session, the NERC team delivered a presentation on the structure and operations of the Indian Forum of Regulators as a case study.

The TWG also deliberated on a proposed work plan for the development of a preliminary framework to establish the forum.

The forum will foster effective collaboration and coordination between NERC at the federal level and the State Electricity Regulators at the subnational level.
