International Centre for Hydropower of Norway Visits NERC, Seeks Sector Collaborations

The International Centre for Hydropower in Norway has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as it seeks collaborations in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

The delegation was led by the Managing Director, Line Amlund Hagen, supported by the Regional Director, Africa Carole Rosenlund.

The team highlighted their strength in promoting capacity building for renewable energy, especially hydropower, while delivering other sector-specific training programmes.

The delegation also noted that the Centre would collaborate with stakeholders in the Nigerian power sector to optimise that.

In his remarks, NERC Commissioner for Research and Data Analytics, Dr. Yusuf Ali, stated that the Commission is at the heart of the power sector and provides a one-stop shop for promoting developmental initiatives for the NESI.

He emphasized the Commission's openness to any fruitful collaborations that could improve power sector indices.
