NERC Strengthens Accountability Culture Through ACTU Sensitisation

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has organised the 2025 NERC Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) Sensitisation Programme.

The initiative was designed to foster a stronger culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability within the Commission.

Coordinated by NERC’s ACTU team, led by Deputy Director (Compliance) in the Legal, Licensing and Compliance Division, Hauwa Yakubu, the 2025 sensitisation carried the theme: “Integrity in Action – Building a Culture of Accountability and Transparency in the Workplace.”

As part of the programme, ACTU members and ICPC officials briefed the Commissioner for Corporate Services, Mr Nathan Shatti, who represented the Commission’s leadership, on the intended impact of the exercise.

He reassured the team of the Commission’s full support in promoting a transparent and accountable culture among NERC staff members.

The ACTU team further engaged staff across NERC’s seven divisions through desk-to-desk interactions, sharing insights on anti-corruption measures and practical steps to entrench transparency. Awareness materials were distributed, and an anonymous questionnaire was administered to collect feedback on strengthening accountability practices at NERC.
