NERC Assures On Accelerated Renewable Energy For Grid Expansion
Following heightened collaborations and stakeholder engagements, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) believes that renewable energy will be accelerated to promote the expansion of the national electricity grid.
This stance was disclosed by the Vice Chairman of NERC, Dr. Musiliu Oseni, in his opening remarks today at the second day of the Summit On Accelerating Scale-Up of Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources in Nigeria.
Dr Oseni commended participants for their in-depth engagement, which he was hopeful would significantly impact the renewable energy expansion drive.
“I want to thank you for your contributions since yesterday and I want to believe that we are going to build on those contributions as today is going to be more technical. I wish you successful deliberation which will help to build the policy and the regulatory framework to achieve our objective of having more renewable energy integrated into the Nigerian electricity system,” said Dr. Oseni.
