Kano’s Energy Committee visits NERC

A delegation from the Kano State Government and the state’s Energy Committee visited the Commission on Thursday.

The delegation from Kano was received by the NERC Chairman, Sanusi Garba; Vice Chairman, Dr Musiliu Oseni; NERC Commissioner, Legal, Licencing and Compliance, Dafe Akpeneye, and the Commissioner, Finance and Management Services, Nathan Shatti, along with the Commission’s management staff.

According to the team, the officials were at the Commission to tap from the wealth of experience of the leadership of the Commission in drafting an electricity law in line with the provisions of the Electricity Act.

The team was hopeful that the law it envisages will ensure that the power supply demand is met in the state considering the large population while creating an investor-friendly environment.

NERC Chairman, Garba stated that the Commission has enacted several industry regulations and orders that states could leverage in intra-state electricity regulation.
