On December 1, 2025, Aisha Mahmud was reappointed to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to serve a second term. As the Commissioner for the Stakeholder Management Division, she leads the Commission’s engagement strategies to ensure the electricity industry remains responsive to the needs of all Nigerians.
Commissioner Mahmud previously led the Consumer Affairs Division before its transition to the Stakeholder Management Division. Her continued tenure provides essential continuity in NERC’s mission to promote an investor-friendly industry and an efficient market structure that meets Nigeria’s needs for safe, adequate, reliable, and affordable electricity.
