About Dr. Musiliu Olalekan Oseni
Dr. Oseni was, until his appointment as Commissioner at NERC, a Research Associate in Economics and Finance of the Built Environment at the University College London, and was previously a researcher at the Energy Policy Research Group, University of Cambridge, UK. Musiliu’s research interests cut across Energy and Behavioral Economics, and he was involved in several consulting projects for the energy industry and for the World Bank. He was also a lecturer at Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, Nigeria, between 2008 and 2011. He is particularly interested in energy issues relating to access, willingness to pay, affordability, pricing, the security of supply, quality of service, and demand-side management. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and the Journal of Energy and Development. Musiliu holds a PhD in Business/Energy Economics from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science (distinction) in Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Surrey, UK, and a Bachelor of Science (first class) in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is currently an honorary research associate at both the Cambridge Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG) and the UCL Faculty of Built Environment. He is a member of the American Economic Association (AEA) and the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).
